Abstract: The article deals with the problems of modern Russian phraseography. The relevance of the topic is connected with the steady tendency of recent years to combine in one phraseological dictionary categorically different units: phraseological units (idioms) - special units of language - and all other stable combinations and expressions: proverbs, sayings, winged expressions, compound conjunctions, comparative expressions, etc. Using theoretical and analytical, classification and comparative methods of analysis of the material included in modern phraseological dictionaries, the conclusion is made that the newest phraseological dictionaries of the Russian language do not take into account the requirement of establishing uniform parameters of the phraseological description of units included in one dictionary, which most fully and precisely reflect their language status and features of usage in speech. The authors of the article aim to substantiate the necessity of including in the dictionary only categorically homogeneous linguistic units and propose parameters of their dictionary description, taking into account their categorical and non-categorical features. The conclusion is made about the impossibility of applying unified principles of phraseological description for typologically different language units and about the expediency of creating special dictionaries for units with different linguistic status.
