    Abstract: 方東美先生是中國當代具代表性的重要哲學家,無論中西哲 學與文化,方先生皆有深入且具洞見的詮釋與批判。其中,對宋 明新儒學,尤其是周濂溪的思想,更有其特殊之見解與批判。本 文首先以回應劉述先先生對方東美先生思想之反省,其次,本文 先展示方先生對濂溪的〈太極圖說〉、《通書》的詮釋與批判。第 三為本文的回應與補充,如果我們將〈太極圖說〉與《通書》視 為一體而互為詮釋,則方先生的許多質疑便可獲得回應。即使單 獨討論之,我們也可以提出一套有別於方先生的詮釋,而避免方 先生所批判的困難與缺失。
    Mr. Thome H. Fang's is a representative contemporary philosopher who is especially expert on Zhou, Lian-xi's thoughts in China. At first, this article responds to Mr. Liu Shu-xian's comments on Mr. Thome H. Fang's thoughts. Secondly, this article demonstrates Mr. Fang's interpretation and criticism of Zhou, Lian-xi's Taiji Diagram (《太極 圖說》) and Tongshu (《通書》).The response and supplement will be the third part of this article. If we interpret Taiji Diagram and Tongshu by each other and take them as a unity, many of Mr. Fang's questions can get responses.
