    Abstract: The research will refer to some basic and limited design data and mission specification of long-endurance UAV such as RQ-1 Predator. Then, the research will adopt airplane design methodologies to find out more design data of RQ-1. Moreover, the research can also acquire some knowledge about the preliminary design of the long-endurance UAV during the research process. The long-endurance UAVs include High-Altitude Long-Endurance (HALE) and Medium-Altitude Long-Endurance (MALE) UAVs. The research would focus on the conceptual design with long-endurance requirements. Deciding the specification, mission profile and payload weight is the first priority. Then, the research would estimate the take-off weight, empty weight and mission fuel weight. The first phase is to discuss the sensitivity. The second phase is to discuss the performance.
