Bluetooth beacons have been used to identify people's location. But due to its limited capability, mobile APPs and Internet connection are often needed to relay the ID information broadcasted by Bluetooth beacons. In this study we built a complete solution based on customized Bluetooth beacons and Bluetooth bracelets. The process is "inverted" as Bluetooth bracelets send out ID information and Bluetooth beacons receiving them. The received information will then be relayed through a two-way network built by the Bluetooth beacons and eventually to an Internet-connected PC and finally a server on the cloud. The beacons are also carefully tuned for power efficiency and can run on batteries for several weeks, enabling easy deployment.
