Abstract:	靈性一詞是傳統的中文字彙。本文回顧最近這一百二十年來的中文靈性資料，主要是報紙資料。研究發現，確實是存在一種比較受到儒家影響的傳統靈性觀：靈性是上天賦予人的聰明智慧，而表現出的行為是能夠思考、別善惡、慮久遠、愛同羣。也因具有靈性，人會感傷哭泣。靈性是可以藉由讀書或其他的藝文活動來提升。在2018年的台灣社會變遷調查資料，有66%的受訪民眾同意「從事藝文活動可以幫助靈性提升」。若是刪除回答「不知道」的次數，則同意的比值高達79%。
