Abstract:	El objetivo que perseguimos aquí es analizar, cuantitativa y cualitativamente, dos traducciones mediante la herramienta WordSmith Tools con el objetivo de lograr datos estadísticos sobre la riqueza léxica, el número de letras por palabras y el promedio de la longitud de las oraciones. Para ello, vamos a trabajar con las traducciones al inglés y al español de la novela contemporánea傾城之戀 (Qing cheng zhi lian), de la autora china Eileen Chang. Compararemos el estilo de las tres especialistas que han llevado a cabo dichas traducciones: Karen S. Kingsbury de la versión inglesa y Anne-Hélène Suárez y Xianghong Qu de la versión española. El eje central del presente trabajo es defender la idea de que dar explicaciones acerca del sentido original facilitaría la lectura del texto, ya que se comprenderían fácilmente las palabras y se conocería su significado completo. The translator is a mediator between two languages and cultures, a connection between twodifferent worlds; hence, translated texts must or can be considered commodities produced by translators.The objective that I pursue here is to perform a qualitative and quantitative analysis of the English andSpanish translations of Eileen Chang’s contemporary novel 傾城之戀(Qingcheng zhi lian). Using thetool Wordsmith, we compared the styles of the translators, Karen S. Kingsbury, Anne-Hélène Suárez andXianghong Qu, who carried out these translations. With this objective, we present here some considera-tions regarding translations, positing as the central axis the idea that a judicious use of explanations inwhich the subtleties of the original language are explained would facilitate the reading of the text.
