    Abstract: 江戶時代的武士林子平（1738～93）寫了「父兄訓」，強調父兄在家中的「八德」—孝、悌、忠、信、勇、義、廉、恥—教育之重要性，也是他教育思想的核心。他告訴「父兄」要知曉「八德」、以身作則、諄諄教誨這八種德目於子弟，培養賢良人材以改善社會風氣。其思想內容與視野具有時代先驅性與超前性。至於對現代有何啟示，有待更進一步的研究。
