    Abstract: 討論keeping up with the Joneses的既存文獻大多採用單部門分析架構，因此忽略掉許多有趣的問題與影響管道，包括不同特質的商品的外部性對於經濟社會的影響，以及外部性所導致的資源分配效果。有鑑於此，本計畫擬利用一個兩部門模型，重新檢視keeping up with the Joneses對於總體經濟社會的短期動態特質與長期經濟成長率可能產生的影響。此外，我們也將探討政府該如何制訂最適的租稅政策來矯正經濟社會的消費外部性，並進一步討論最適租稅政策與總合需求管理政策之間的關係。本計畫擬利用兩年的時間分別探討封閉經濟體系與開放經濟體系下，keeping up with the Joneses對於總體經濟的影響，最後再將兩者的差異進行比較。
