The thesis focuses on Taiwan-U.S. relations through Taiwanese films which represent more cultural aspect rather than politics or economy. In addition, the prospective of Occidentalism and Orientalism is also applied to the thesis when analyzing the films.
The research tries to not only express the intimate relationship between film and society but also the diplomacy between Taiwan and the U.S. from the films. The most important of all, it shows the reflection of Taiwan to the U.S. from the films.
