Abstract:	〈礼运〉有言：「夫礼之初，始诸饮食」，最初的祭祀起源于向神灵献食，即能传达祈愿与敬意。在先秦的祭祀活动中，血被视为具有某种巫术功能，它可以充当通天达地的法器，古代牺牲经现场屠杀，直接以血肉相荐；汉代之后，血祭则为维持国祚的基本措施。朱子编定《家礼》参酌时俗，因时制宜，于祭祀特别关注，且维持血祭传统。然而，在重构血祭传统的过程中，则面临了「士内涵的转变」、「佛道戒杀的影响」、「推及庶人的礼仪规范」等问题。明代之后，透过《朱子家礼》的礼典化，儒家祭祖的礼仪规范也得以在民间有效推广。
