摘要: Communication plays a crucial role in enhancing resiliency in response to climate change. As community involves and becomes aware of the risks, the motivation to take action and disseminate information for resiliency enhancement motivates the purpose of this research. The Collaborative approach documented 10 retailers (respondents) and conducted semi-structured interview process focusing on their communication and resilience thinking under climate change, affecting their personal engagement with climate change. The flood resilience thinking of the retailers in Shetzu peninsula referred to place specific communication that sustains its social resiliency and helps inform on how to best share about climate change. The concept proposed is to improve urban flood resilience within a context of communication build-up thru community network and social media. We elaborate on the updated approach thru social media communication to cope with changing risks and increase urban resilience in the estuary Shetzu, resulting in a communication that relies on knowledge and network. This study gives an insight into the key role of the media and communications in addressing issues relating to climate change and transmitting information to the public in order to take action.
