TRA releases the new generation of e-ticketing “TRA App Ticketing System”. This paper conducts ticketing analysis for the ticketing data on TRA App, so as to observe the passenger’s booking behavior and using habits, based on which some appropriate suggestions are proposed.
In this study, 71,948 pen sales data TRA App of tickets sold. The monthly compound growth rate of the sold tickets is 18.52%. The ticketing for the trip between Taipei and Hualien accounts for 27.74% of the total tickets sold on TRA App. The ticketing of Tze-Chiang Limited Express takes up the highest proportion of the total number, reaching 54.54%. 90.70% of the passengers only purchase one-way tickets. The tickets purchased during the ordinary days account for 72.21% of the total number on TRA App.
Currently, the number of passengers purchasing tickets via TRA App is small, but it shows a gradual growth trend. If it provides the function of picking up tickets via the mobile phone and opens the function of purchasing tickets for local trains, it may bring significant effectiveness for the sales growth.
