Abstract:	本文以文件分析、個案研究與訪談法探討運輸領域英語授課現況及學習成效，研究發現英語運輸專業課程的發展趨勢為：(1)提供學生適性選擇修課語言的機會；(2)英語授課課程存續受科目內容與教學限制影響；(3)航運及航空系所較重視專業英語課程；(4)英語授課短中期內仍以新進教師為主。個案顯示學生肯定英語授課，英聽與閱讀能力提升但口語表達仍受限。為增進英語授課成效，教師宜應用多元技巧改善課堂互動，並引導學生落實預習及複習。文末提出運輸領域推動英語授課的六項建議。本文為英語授課研究首次對特定領域的分析，也是專業教師與英語教師共同執行的先例，成果可作為英語授課課程與政策規劃參考。 This paper is aimed at investigating the curriculum development and learning effectiveness of English-medium instruction (EMI) courses in the field of transportation. The data were collected via document analysis, a case study, and interviews. Findings of the study indicated the following characteristics regarding the trend of transportation EMI curriculum development: (1) students can choose the language of instruction; (2) the continuity of an EMI course is determined by its content and instruction; (3) shipping and air transportation departments place more emphasis on English for Specific Purposes courses; and (4) EMI courses are offered primarily by junior faculty. The results of the case study indicated that the students held a positive attitude toward EMI. They did not make noticeable progress in their English speaking proficiency, but they did improve their listening and reading. To improve the effectiveness of EMI courses, instructors should employ multiple teaching strategies to enhance classroom interactions and guide students to preview and review the content. At the conclusion of this study, the authors proposed six directions for transportation EMI course implementation. This was the first EMI study focusing on a specific field, and also the first collaborative investigation conducted by a content teacher and an English teacher. The findings will shed some light on EMI curriculum design and policy making.
