Abstract: Due to the hardware cost and site constraints, the underwater transmission cannot be easily achieved in the terrestrial environment. In addition, network simulators also cannot precisely evaluate the network performance. As a result, a ZigBee-based Emulation Platform (ZEP) for underwater acoustic sensor networks is developed to estimate the network performance. Based on the evaluation results, some underwater collision problems can be correctly implemented in ZEP.
