Tales of Dutch Formosa was first broadcast on August 16, 2002, enabling English audiences the rare opportunity to learn about the dramatic events of the Dutch occupation of Formosa (1624-1662). The docudramas were then published in book and CD format in August, 2004. Now in 2011, the book and CDs have been reprinted in a beautifully redesigned set that will enable RTI to bring the Tales to an even larger audience.
Accompanying articles by the series originator and the producer offer rich insight into the making of the Tales. Transcribed interviews by the series historian shed further light on the time period. The book is accompanied by two CDs, which contain the four episodes of Tales of Dutch Formosa.
