Abstract: This paper proposes a brain-emotional-learning-based fuzzy control (BELFC) system which is comprised of a fuzzy amygdale controller (FAC) and a fuzzy orbitofrontal controller (FOC). The FAC is used for providing attention signals and the FOC is designed to inhibit inappropriate responses from the FAC. All adjustable parameters of the BELFC system are on-line tuned based on both of the brain emotional learning model and the gradient descent method. Finally, the proposed BELFC system is applied to chaos synchronization problem. The simulation results show that the chaotic behavior of two nonlinear chaotic systems can be synchronized using the proposed BELFC scheme after controller parameters learning.
