Abstract: In recent years, considerable attention has been paid to the research in social network, since many potential social phenomena can be extracted by analyzing the social structure. Nevertheless, the social network usually changes over time. How to capture the patterns in dynamic social network is a challenge issue. In this paper, we introduce a novel method to capture the friendship characteristics in a dynamic social network. We also utilize some pruning strategies to efficiently reduce the search space. The experimental results show the efficiency of proposed approach for extracting the characteristic, and possess graceful scalability.
