    Abstract: “亚洲学生远程会议”是由早稻田大学和庆应义塾大学常设的国际教育远程通信课程之一,是顺
    应全球高等教育国际化浪潮,日本高校与亚洲各国家或地区的高校进行合作,通过远程视频会议的方
    式,在母语背景不同的学生间实现面对面同步对话的课程方式。课程内容以学生自主交流为主要特色,
    学生自行确定课程内容,自由探讨各类问题,教师只在课程进行中提供必要的引导。参加者隔周交替使
    用母语和外语进行互动,在实现语言学习、实践练习的基础上,促进文化的交流共通。在课程施行以来
    的十几年中,收到了很明显的教学效果,与课学生的国际化理念不断提升。但是,在数字多媒体化平台
    多元化的今天,远程会议课程也面临着新的问题与挑战,如何很好地应对并展现自身的不可替代性,将
    是今后继续努力的重点。
    The authors have been teaching a course on virtual face-to-face debate sessions titled “Asian Students’
    Conference” using a video conference system connecting students in the universities in Asia such as Japan, China
    and Taiwan. This course provides a 80-minute debate session per week for one semester and we have conducted
    more than 208 sessions so far to date. This article analyses the significance of the virtual distance learning in the
    age of increased variety of e-learning and mobility of students in the global economy. This also illustrates the
    achievements made in the foreign language proficiency and the cross-cultural competency which supports the
    international distance learning, as well as the system technology and the support staff system.
