    Abstract: 液晶感測系統(LC-based sensor system)是一種利用液晶分子當作光學訊號輸出源的新型感測器系統。由於它在一般光線下就可以得到彩色的訊號,因此可輕易判讀結果並適合可攜式檢測。現今以向列型液晶4-戊基-4’-氰基聯苯 (4-pentyl-4’cyanobiphenyl,5CB) 作為訊號偵測被應用大部分的液晶感測器型系統研究上。而目前為止,研究液晶分子的化學結構對於液晶型感測器系統的影響是相當罕見的。在我們的研究中,我們利用有機合成方法製備出12個5CB之衍生物。我們測量這些5CB衍生物的熔點及光物理性質,最後我們將這些衍生物摻雜入5CB液晶分子中,並且將這些混合的液晶分子應用於液晶型感測器中,藉由這樣的方法我們觀察是否能夠增加感測器的偵測極限。
    In most of the researches on liquid crystal (LC)-based sensor system, nematic LC 4-cyano-4''-pentylbiphenyl (5CB) is applied as the signal reporter. So far, the study on how the chemical structure of the LC molecules to affect the result of LC-based sensor system is considerably rare. In our study, we used method of the organic synthesis to preparing 12 kinds of 5CB derivatives. We measured the melting point and photophysical properties of these 5CB derivatives. Finally, we dope these derivatives into 5CB LC molecules, and these mixed LC molecules are applied in LC-based sensor system. By this way, we observed whether it could increase the detection limit of the LC-based sensor sensors or not.
