The effect of mobile payment industry for technology, information, bank, and telecommunication is very huge and important in the future. The technical conditions of mobile payment are well-developed, but still need to integrate the resource of each industry. However, the development of mobile payment in Taiwan is behind other country due to there is no complementarity between the government policy, laws, business strategy, and consumer needs.
This study will discuss the banking industry how to response the expansion of mobile payment service, improving the business relationship between banking payment, telecommunication service, application service, and co-developed clicks-and-mortar business of mobile payment. It will raise the social confidence and favor for mobile payment service by cross-industry cooperation and alliances, helpful for banking institution to develop mobile payment service, and inject new development momentum for Taiwan industry marching into electronic-commerce service and mobile-commerce service.
The research results indicated that banking will be affected by political factors, economic factors, technological factors, demographic factors, and law factors. By the structural analysis of mobile payment indicated that the existing competitor is interbank, potential competitor are foreign bank and other company which invest mobile payment. We also can through SWOT analysis to find banking has unique advantage, such as cash flow management and well risk control, could take advantage itself and use opportunity of exterior environment to overcome threats while toward bad situation.
