摘要:	本研究以「台灣新移民文化交流協會」為例，探討新移民女性在台灣的適應現象。研究藉由田野參與觀察及深入訪談資料分析後，得到如下研究發現：不同於過去的研究，都指向台灣新移民女性處於結構限制下，在移居地社會扮演弱勢女性角色，本研究指出新移民女性中也出現一種新的型態，本文稱為創新適應者(innovative adapters)。根據學者Levitt的研究，它可被區分三種類型：類型一為被接受觀察者(recipient observers)，指的是在離開原生國後，其社會與文化資源並未有改變。類型二為工具性適應者(instrumental adapters)，婚姻移民女性會把在移入國學到的部分新文化加入到她們自己原有的文化中，而且是以不改變自身文化的元素下進行，包含其舊有的習慣或是觀念等。類型三為有決心改革者(purposeful innovators)，她／他們會把觀念與習慣跟移入國的規範相互融合。在這種情況下，雙方知識思想的分享交流會製造出一種混合式的交融形態。以上三種型態，都並存在本研究的訪談對象中。要指出的是，本文所提到關於創新的適應者，是指新移民女性嫁到台灣生活的過程中不只是適應台灣社會生活，更是融合了當地社會的文化並發展出她們想要的未來(preferred futures)。同時，她們也努力爭取屬於台灣新移民女性的強項，協助推動台灣成為一個更多元文化的社會，作為可見的台灣未來。 This research was to explore the adaption process of new immigrants in Taiwan by taking the "New Taiwan Immigrants Culture Exchange Association" as an example. By using the method of participant observation and in-depth interviews, this research findings: In the previous studies, the new female immigrants were mainly seen as vulnerable women under a patriarchal culture in Taiwan, however, the research founded many new immigrants are able to play a more active role in Taiwanese society which I called “innovator adapters”. It included three types: recipient observers, instrumental adapters, and t purposeful innovators. All these three types could be found in this study and played as significant social actors in contemporary society. Many new immigrants not passive adapted themselves to the Taiwanese society, but tried to bring new elements of culture from their home countries to the host society. These new immigrants strive to promote Taiwan to become a well developed multicultural society as their preferred futures.
