| 摘要: | 線性人生製造了許多「成功模型」，使得所有不合「成功模型」規格的人生劇情，都被宣判為失敗。婚姻也依從這種模式，在人生中佔據著極大的版圖，且被認定是必須發生的人生事件。相對於單身的處境，便有了沉重的歷史包袱。然而，網路科技世代的來臨，人生也充滿著意外，使得生命事件不能如預期般直線進行。社會中出現了「單身潮」，其包括了徘徊於婚與不婚的壓力中，對於婚姻的懷疑與抗拒，以及不婚、晚婚或同居人口的上升，這種拉鋸現象，從「未來三角」中可看出，婚姻在過去、現在與未來中所產生的變化。在EIA的趨勢分析中，也能窺見人類婚姻之未來可能發展。本研究，試圖探索現存婚姻制度與婚姻之社會意義，在因應社會變遷時可能出現何種轉變？
從歷史演進歷程中，以及東西方對於婚姻的註解定義，體察出婚姻本質係以性與經濟為核心意涵。研究者將經濟因素限定於生育子女與老年照護議題，以便於研究操作。因二者與家庭經濟程度發生緊密關聯，婚姻生活也深受其影響。研究者提出幾個社會現象，來說明婚姻本質中的性與經濟，在面對網路新世紀時，許多家庭功能與角色倍受挑戰與質疑。如果婚姻功能逐一被取代，那麼婚姻的剩餘價值又會是甚麼？諸多社會事實浮上檯面，迫使人們必須重新思考婚姻的本質意涵，並為婚姻尋得一個受肯定的價值。
本研究的文本取樣，依據「婚與不婚」、「婚姻家庭衝突」、「親子關係」與「老年照護」作為選用指標。範圍含括：具婚姻相關之影片、電視訪談節目與社會案例。個案以台灣和中國大陸地區為主，發生時間約在距今五年以內。研究設計與方法，初以文本敘說分析、劇情描繪為主。透過關注、訴說、轉錄、分析、閱讀的經驗再次呈現之五個層級，接續進行劇情改編與分析，終以論述分析整理出結論並提出觀點。
同時，研究者提出一個替代性的「契約制婚姻」，嘗試操作「未來輪」以進行初步評估。草擬一份「契約制婚姻」條款，並據此操作模擬情境與劇情描繪。借助文本敘說做進一步的論述分析，並探討情意因素之於婚姻本質的重要影響力。最後，研究者說明「契約制婚姻」的優勢特點，以及提出「鐘擺樣態」觀點，做為檢測婚姻之幸福感程度的參考指標。
