This study aims to investigate the background factors and socio-psychosocial factors in relationships with regular exercise behaviors. The subjects of the study were selected from the 7th, 8th and 9th grades of junior high school in New Taipei City. By using a stratified cluster sampling method and structural questionnaires, 495 valid samples were collected. The data were analyzed with frequency, One-way ANOVA, Pearson''s correlation and multiple regression.

    The results are as followed:
    1. The subjects who are male, school clubs and school sport teams were more likely to exercise regularly.
    2. Regular exercise behavior was positively correlated with Social support for exercise, Self-regulation for exercise and Outcome expectancy for exercise.
    3. By multiple regression analysis, gender, self-regulation for exercise and Outcome expectancy for exercise could predict regular exercise behaviors and explain 71.1% variance. Self-regulation for exercise was the most important predictor of regular exercise.

Finally, based on the results, this study provides some suggestions
for schools, education-related supply units, and personnel to improve curriculum and administrative measures. This study also provides an example for further studies in future.
