摘要: Many Taiwanese manufacturing businesses, after twenty years of development in China, are facing a problem of transformation, particularly in terms of the change in the socio-economic environment surrounding the Pearl River Delta area. However, the recent development in Inner China has provided new chances to these manufacturing businesses, giving opportunities to Taiwanese manufacturing firms to take this advantage and move to the western and central areas of China. This paper explores the inward movement of Taiwanese manufacturing businesses in the development of Inner China.
Three research questions will be addressed: 1) How was the process of Taiwanese manufacturing businesses moving from Taiwan to China’s Pearl River Delta area and the inward movement of these businesses in the development of Inner China in recent years? 2) What kind of new relationship, in terms of the workplace regime, is created among Taiwanese and Chinese migrant skilled workers and local Chinese employees? 3) How is the migration experience of Taiwanese and Chinese skilled workers to inland provinces of China?
