    Abstract: 本文將在晚近的《荀子》研究的基礎上，藉著評析西方詮釋來探索一個基本而重要的道德哲學問題：《荀子》可以如何答覆「人如何認識道德上的是非？」這個問題可以進一步分為「人如何從在道德上完全無知，進步到開始知道對錯？」「開始知道對錯之後，如何可以繼續進步？」並將「人」分為「道德傳統中的個人」、與從眾多「有知之屬」的物種中脫穎而出的「人類」，就此兩種意義的「人」來討論個人道德修養之發展與人類道德文明傳統的發展。
