    Abstract: We prepared the bioactive liquid crystal (LC) droplets by decorating an oligopeptide at the LC/aqueous interface to stabilize the LC droplets. These LC droplets can be used to detect proteases through the specific cleavage of protease on an oligopeptide leading to a bipolar-to-radial transition of LC configuration inside the droplets.
