<title>The estimation of the AFT model with measurement errors–the Buckley James approach</title>
      <link>https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/129100</link>
<description>title: The estimation of the AFT model with measurement errors–the Buckley James approach abstract: The Accelerated Failure Time (AFT) model is a widely used framework in survival
analysis, providing an intuitive interpretation of the effects of covariates on loglifetime. This paper addresses the estimation problem when covariates are subject to
measurement error. We begin by correcting the bias in the estimating function using
the traditional approach, assuming no censoring, and then extend the method by
computing its conditional expectation given the censoring indicator, in line with the
Buckley–James estimation framework. However, the computation requires estimating
the distribution of the adjusted lifetime. Since measurement error induces dependence
between the adjusted lifetime and censoring time, we propose employing Beran’s
estimator to address this complication. Simulation results demonstrate that the
proposed method outperforms conventional regression calibration and remains
consistent under completely random censoring.

<title>Lifetime Inference for Highly Reliable Products Based on Skew-Normal Accelerated Destructive Degradation Test Model</title>
      <link>https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/120114</link>
<description>title: Lifetime Inference for Highly Reliable Products Based on Skew-Normal Accelerated Destructive Degradation Test Model abstract: The accelerated destructive degradation test (ADDT) method provides an effective way to assess the reliability information of highly reliable products whose quality characteristics degrade over time, and can be taken only once on each tested unit during the measurement process. Conventionally, engineers assume that the measurement error follows the normal distribution. However, degradation models based on this normality assumption often do not apply in practical applications. To relax the normality assumption, the skew-normal distribution is adopted in this study because it preserves the advantages of the normal distribution with the additional benefit of flexibility with regard to skewness and kurtosis. Here, motivated by polymer data, we propose a skew-normal nonlinear ADDT model, and derive the analytical expressions for the product's lifetime distribution along with its corresponding pth percentile. Then, the polymer data are used to illustrate the advantages gained by the proposed model.

The distributions of some well-known test statistics for exponential outliers in the literature can be easily evaluated using mTEXO, saving considerable computational time performing numerical integrations and combinatorial algebra necessary in the traditional approach.

We obtain a threshold phenomenon for the invasion of the predator into the habitat of the aborigine prey. It turns out that this threshold is the so-called spreading speed of the predator.

<title>Revenue maximization for telecommunications company with social viral marketing</title>
      <link>https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/115244</link>
<description>title: Revenue maximization for telecommunications company with social viral marketing abstract: Viral marketing, a marketing strategy that leverages the influence power in intimate relationship, has become more prevalent due to the popularity of online social networking services in recent years. Consumers are more likely to make a purchase based on social media referrals. Since marketing through social media and traditional channels may target on different audiences, how to maximize the revenue of a telecommunications company by employing different advertising ways and selecting initial users for advertisements is a critical problem. Therefore, in this paper, we formulate a new research problem, namely Cost-Aware Multi-wAy Influence maXimization (CAMAIX) to address the need mentioned above. We design a 1/2-approximation algorithm with various pruning and budget allocation strategies to solve CAMAIX efficiently. We conduct extensive experiments on a large-scale real dataset from a telecommunications company. The results show that our proposed algorithm outperforms the baseline algorithms in both solution quality and efficiency.
