Staging a comeback? The influencing mechanism of tourist crowding perception on adaptive behavior.
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125267
title: Staging a comeback? The influencing mechanism of tourist crowding perception on adaptive behavior. abstract: An increasing number of studies have recently elucidated the serious negative effects of tourist crowding. However, how tourists cope with crowding and adopt adaptive responses remains unclear. Thus, this study qualitatively identified the mechanism of tourist crowding perception of adaptive behavior from interviewees and then quantitatively validated the mechanism through the mediation of tourist fatigue and negative emotions, as well as the moderation of peer emotion contagion. Tourists were more likely to return to a destination and engage in temporal replacement behavior through the mediating effect of tourist fatigue, but it was also found that peer emotional contagion interferes with two paths that explain how tourist crowding perception influences tourist emotion change or state variation, impacting adaptive behavior responses. Consequently, we recommend diverting tourists, focusing on alleviating fatigue and negative emotions and channeling the peers’ negative emotions to mitigate the negative impact of tourist crowding.

https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125252
title: Eco-Friendly Transactions: Exploring Mobile Payment Adoption as a Sustainable Consumer Choice in Taiwan and the Philippines abstract: This study looks into eco-friendly transactions via mobile payment (MP) adoption in the context of a global emphasis on responsible innovation and sustainable consumption. Focusing on MP adoption in Taiwan and the Philippines and utilizing SPSS and PROCESS tools, we uncover distinct patterns. The Philippines highlights the impact of social factors on hedonic motivations driving MP adoption, whereas Taiwan emphasizes functional aspects, underlining the need for region-specific strategies. By analyzing the interplay between hedonic and utilitarian motives, our research contributes to discussions on environmentally conscious transactional choices in diverse cultural contexts. We emphasize the seamless integration of FinTech innovation and ethical consumer decisions, advocating for sustainable practices in everyday financial transactions. Our findings address contemporary concerns about business ethics, environmental sustainability, and responsibility, offering a roadmap for fostering greener consumer behaviors.

https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125238
title: Using Big Data Analytics and Heatmap Matrix Visualization to Enhance Cryptocurrency Trading Decisions abstract: Using the Bollinger Bands trading strategy (BBTS), investors are advised to buy (and then sell) Bitcoin and Ethereum spot prices in response to BBTS’s oversold (overbought) signals. As a result of analyzing whether investors would profit from round-turn trading of these two spot prices, this study may reveal the following remarkable outcomes and investment strategies. This study first demonstrated that using our novel design with a heatmap matrix would result in multiple higher returns, all of which were greater than the highest return using the conventional design. We contend that such an impressive finding could be the result of big data analytics and the adaptability of BBTS in our new design. Second, because cryptocurrency spot prices are relatively volatile, such indices may experience a significant rebound from oversold to overbought BBTS signals, resulting in the potential for much higher returns. Third, if history repeats itself, our findings might enhance the profitability of trading these two spots. As such, this study extracts the diverse trading performance of multiple BB trading rules, uses big data analytics to observe and evaluate many outcomes via heatmap visualization, and applies such knowledge to investment practice, which may contribute to the literature. Consequently, this study may cast light on the significance of decision-making through the utilization of big data analytics and heatmap visualization.
The profitability of Bollinger Bands trading bitcoin futures
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125237
title: The profitability of Bollinger Bands trading bitcoin futures abstract: We explore whether investors would receive excess profits by round-turn trading (hereafter referred to as trading) Bitcoin futures based on Bollinger Bands trading strategy (BBTS). Since investors are suggested to first buy (then sell) Bitcoin futures as oversold (overbought) signals emitted by the BBTS (i.e. penetrating lower (upper) Bollinger Bands regarded as a buying (selling) signal), we aim to explore whether investors would have better returns by trading such futures according to the BBTS. Results show that the average holding period return (AHPR) is over 20% for trading Bitcoin futures following the BBTS. Furthermore, after we adjust the 60-day moving average (MA) instead of the 20-day MA for the BBTS, the AHPR is above 50%. It is noted that if the margin could be deemed as an investment amount, its rate of return would be much higher than the 50% for trading Bitcoin futures.
Fatigue or satisfaction at crowded attractions?
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125236
title: Fatigue or satisfaction at crowded attractions? abstract: Based on arousal theory, we argue that clarifying the mechanism of tourist fatigue on tourist satisfaction is critical for better understanding tourists visiting crowded attractions. A field survey was conducted in Zengcuoan, China’s most artistic fishing village. We revealed that, contrary to expectations, tourist fatigue does not always have a negative impact on tourist satisfaction, implying that, similar to the contrast phenomenon of “poor but happy”, “fatigue but satisfaction” may exist in tourism because there must be something to entice tourists in congested areas. Furthermore, we demonstrated that tourists with high experience quality may mitigate the negative effects of tourist crowding on tourist satisfaction from the theoretical perspective of arousal theory. We then propose that tourism authorities improve experience quality by creating a high-quality tourism experience, and even a one-of-a-kind and unforgettable experience for tourists. Nonetheless, we argue that finding more creative ways to reduce “fatigue” and increase “satisfaction” for tourists is critical for the tourism industry’s success, especially given the industry’s current competitive conditions. As a result, we believe there is still room for further research into these methods.
Navigating Unpleasant Interactions: The Influence of Customer Mistreatment on Hospitality Employee Responses Employing Mindfulness as a Moderator.
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125235
title: Navigating Unpleasant Interactions: The Influence of Customer Mistreatment on Hospitality Employee Responses Employing Mindfulness as a Moderator. abstract: Customer mistreatment may be an unavoidable issue for the hospitality industry. Based on the Pressure–State–Response (PSR) framework, this study investigates the process of employees’ pressure, state, and responses to customer mistreatment with the moderation of mindfulness. By using structure modeling equation techniques, we find that employees with high levels of mindfulness can mitigate the impact of customer mistreatment on emotional exhaustion; however, this study unexpectedly found that mindfulness can enhance the impact of emotional exhaustion on turnover intention. This study concludes that instead of conflicting with customers, resulting in their emotional exhaustion, these employees with mindfulness may deal with customer emotions, avoiding the immediate negative impact of customer mistreatment, which is beneficial for hospitality enterprises, particularly given the present state of competition in the industry. Even so, we find that these employees with high-level mindfulness may recognize reality rather than become confused in such circumstances and may choose to leave to find a new job. As such, there is still room for future research into ways to cope with customer mistreatment without increasing the turnover intention of such employees.
Love me, love my dog: does destination attractiveness not only mitigate tourists’ anger and regret emotions but also prevent negative word of mouth?.
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125234
title: Love me, love my dog: does destination attractiveness not only mitigate tourists’ anger and regret emotions but also prevent negative word of mouth?. abstract: Avoiding negative word of mouth would be of vital importance for promoting sustainable rural tourism. By searching for the channels influencing the effect of residents’ irregular business behaviours (RIBB) on negative word of mouth (NWOM) in rural tourism destinations, incorporating how to moderate such effect, this study found that RIBB would affect NWOM via tourists’ anger emotions (TAE) or tourists’ regret emotions (TRE). Additionally, destination attractiveness positively moderates the effect of RIBB on either TAE or TRE, indicating that tourists with a high perceived destination attraction might not mitigate TAE or TRE, which might go against the saying of ‘Love me, love my dog’. This study thus argued that destination attractiveness would not mitigate the effect of RIBB on either TAE or TRE, thereby deteriorating NWOM, which would be an essential finding that may contribute to the existing literature by either shedding new light on the important and special role of destination attractiveness or providing an alternative explanation based on the emotion-appraisal theory.
The profitability of trading US stocks in Quarter 4-evidence from trading signals emitted by SOI and RSI.
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125154
title: The profitability of trading US stocks in Quarter 4-evidence from trading signals emitted by SOI and RSI. abstract: Since the yields of trading stocks are affected by numerous elements, this study aims to explore whether the profitability of trading stock with the use of technical trading rules, such as Stochastic Oscillator Indicators (SOI) and Relative Strength Index (RSI), would matter in the fourth quarter of the year. By employing the data of Dow Jones 30 (DJI 30) and NASDAQ 100 (NDX100) from 2011 to 2020 and from 1991 to 2020, this study reports that investors applying SOI and RSI would have higher cumulative abnormal returns (CARs) in Quarter 4 as compared with those in Quarters 1–3, respectively. The revealed findings indicate that the quarterly effect should be taken into account by investors when trading DJI 30 and NDX100, the representative indices for US stock markets. More importantly, this study may contribute to the existing literature due to the rare discussion of this interesting issue in the past research.
Visualizing Profitability: A Heatmap Approach to Evaluate Bitcoin Futures Trading Using VMA Trading Rules
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125125
title: Visualizing Profitability: A Heatmap Approach to Evaluate Bitcoin Futures Trading Using VMA Trading Rules abstract: Given that technical trading charts are publicly available on popular financial websites such as Bloomberg and MarketWatch, it stands to reason that the same technical trading approaches may be applied to cryptocurrency markets. One of these trading strategies is the variable length moving average (VMA), whose flexibility benefit has not been fully explored in prior research. To fill this gap, we evaluate Bitcoin futures using VMA trading rules and provide the results in a heatmap diagram. This approach allows investors to choose the most effective VMA rules, potentially leading to profits. Furthermore, our approach may shed new light on previously unexplored investment thinking and practices that have the potential to improve investment outcomes.
Can Investors Profit from Utilizing Technical Trading Rules during the COVID-19 Pandemic?
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125124
title: Can Investors Profit from Utilizing Technical Trading Rules during the COVID-19 Pandemic? abstract: In the past, it was believed that investors may generate abnormal returns (AR) for trading stocks by employing technical trading rules. However, since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out, stock markets around the world seem to suffer a serious impact. Therefore, whether investors can beat the markets by applying technical trading rules during the period of COVID-19 pandemic becomes an important issue for market participants. The purpose of this study is to examine the profitability of trading stocks with the use of technical trading rules under the COVID-19 pandemic. By trading the constituent stocks of DJ 30 and NASDAQ 100, we find that almost all of the trading rules employed in this study fail to beat the market during the COVID-19 pandemic period, which is different from the results in 2019. The revealed findings of this study may shed light on that investors should adopt technical trading with care when stock markets are seriously affected by black swan events like COVID-19.
Does temporary performance matter for word of mouth in museums?
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125123
title: Does temporary performance matter for word of mouth in museums? abstract: Given the significance of word of mouth (WOM) in influencing other people's decisions to visit, it is critical to investigate the mechanism and condition configuration of WOM in museums. Using SEM technology and fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA), this study discovered that experience at museums influences WOM via either brand image or attractiveness of museums, and that temporary experience positively moderates the effect of experience at museums on attractiveness of museums, indicating that visitors with temporary experience may perceive attractiveness of museums to be stronger, which is rarely disclosed in the existing literature. Furthermore, this study revealed that the formation of WOM occurs as a result of a multi-condition configuration, such as the combination of entertainment and aesthetic experiences at museums, which results in WOM. The mechanism and configuration of WOM in museums, as well as the moderating effect of temporary experience as an external factor in the Howard-Sheth model, were discovered in this study, providing a new understanding of this model.
Enhancing Crypto Success via Heatmap Visualization of Big Data Analytics for Numerous Variable Moving Average Strategies
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125122
title: Enhancing Crypto Success via Heatmap Visualization of Big Data Analytics for Numerous Variable Moving Average Strategies abstract: This study employed variable moving average (VMA) trading rules and heatmap visualization because the flexibility advantage of the VMA technique and the presentation of numerous outcomes using the heatmap visualization technique may not have been thoroughly considered in prior financial research. We not only employ multiple VMA trading rules in trading crypto futures but also present our overall results through heatmap visualization, which will aid investors in selecting an appropriate VMA trading rule, thereby likely generating profits after screening the results generated from various VMA trading rules. Unexpectedly, we demonstrate in this study that our results may impress Ethereum futures traders by disclosing a heatmap matrix that displays multiple geometric average returns (GARs) exceeding 40%, in accordance with various VMA trading rules. Thus, we argue that this study extracted the diverse trading performance of various VMA trading rules, utilized a big data analytics technique for knowledge extraction to observe and evaluate numerous results via heatmap visualization, and then employed this knowledge for investments, thereby contributing to the extant literature. Consequently, this study may cast light on the significance of decision making via big data analytics.
Do clean energy indices outperform using contrarian strategies based on contrarian trading rules?
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125121
title: Do clean energy indices outperform using contrarian strategies based on contrarian trading rules? abstract: As a result of climate change, investors are becoming more interested in investing in clean energy stocks, appealing to many investors due to the prospects of clean energy. Using contrarian trading rules such as the Stochastic Oscillator Index (SOI), Relative Strength Index (RSI), and Bollinger Bands (BBs), we reveal several interesting and important findings. First, we show that better subsequent performance is revealed after overbought rather than oversold phenomena are emitted, indicating that overreaction phenomena may not be temporary in clean energy indices. Second, we show that not only investing strategies but also trading rules are important, as better clean energy index performance is shown following overbought signals emitted by RSI trading rules. Third, we show that taking trading time into account can result in significantly better gains for investors, showing that trading signals issued at different quarters do matter when trading financial instruments closely related to clean energy indices, such as clean energy ETFs. Fourth, we show that, despite being labeled as two distinct clean indices, the S&P and NASDAQ clean energy indices perform very differently, implying that investors should consider the indices' context rather than their names.
Anxious hotel employees in China: Engaged or exhausted? Multiple effects of workplace anxiety
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125120
title: Anxious hotel employees in China: Engaged or exhausted? Multiple effects of workplace anxiety abstract: This study aims to investigate the multiple effects of hotel employees' workplace anxiety under COVID-19. By using time-lag data with 223 matched responses, we showed that workplace anxiety has a positive direct impact on workaholic behavior, emotional exhaustion, and work withdrawal behavior and that effort-reward balance (imbalance) would ameliorate (deteriorate) the negative effect of workaholic behavior on emotional exhaustion, implying that understanding of the adverse but reversible effects of workplace anxiety could help strengthen the hotel industry's development. This study may be the first attempt to examine the moderation of ERI in the link between workaholic behavior and emotional exhaustion, as well as how to mitigate such negative consequences, thereby contributing to the existing hospitality literature. Moreover, we argue that exploring more new ways to deal with workplace anxiety among hotel employees while maintaining employee performance is worthwhile for future research, especially given the industry's current competitive conditions.
The Profitability of Seasonal Trading Timing: Insights from Energy-Related Markets
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125119
title: The Profitability of Seasonal Trading Timing: Insights from Energy-Related Markets abstract: Evaluating subsequent performance is critical in investment decision-making since investors make investment decisions now, but the profits generated will only be known later. However, the research on the significance of subsequent performance as trading signs issued by technical trading regulations in different seasons (hereafter referred to as seasonal effects) is limited and understudied, despite the widespread exploration of January and weekly effects in relevant studies. This study aimed to address this research gap and examine the impact of seasonal effects on clean energy and energy markets, revealing several critical findings. First, contrarian (momentum) trading rules generated better succeeding performance for the energy (clean energy) index than the clean energy (energy) index. Second, momentum (contrarian) trading rules generated better succeeding performance for the clean energy (energy) index than the energy (clean energy) index. Third, momentum (contrarian) trading rules exhibited stronger seasonal effects in Season 1 (Season 2) than in other seasons. Fourth, the analysis of RSI trading signals in Season 1 showed that the better succeeding index performance for clean energy was shown over 15% average holding period returns, compared to the near-zero mean daily returns for both clean energy and energy index returns over the data period. This study also indicates that considerable seasonal effects exist in both clean energy and energy markets.
Be greedy when others are fearful: Evidence from a two-decade assessment of the NDX 100 and S&P 500 indexes
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125118
title: Be greedy when others are fearful: Evidence from a two-decade assessment of the NDX 100 and S&P 500 indexes abstract: This study explores the profitability of trading range breakout (TRB) trading rules and commonly used moving average (MA) trading rules in the NDX 100 and S&P 500 indices. Its objective is to offer practical insights for investors who own QQQ and SPY, two popular ETFs that track these two indices. Using big data analytics, the study reveals that investors who trade and hold these two ETFs can potentially profit from using TRB instead of MA trading rules. Unexpectedly as opposed to buying signals from TRB trading rules or momentum MA trading rules, investors may obtain much higher returns by purchasing these ETFs (i.e., QQQ and SPY) as selling signals emitted by TRB rules, particularly by buying these ETFs as stock prices break below 150-day low and 200-day low, a situation in which many investors may experience panic due to the continuously falling share price. As such, we argue that our findings may suggest that being greedy when others are fearful (i.e., the Warren Buffett quote) is of significance to this study.
The impact and profitability of day trading following the relaxation of day trading restrictions in Taiwan.
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125117
title: The impact and profitability of day trading following the relaxation of day trading restrictions in Taiwan. abstract: The relaxation of day trading restrictions in Taiwan at the start of 2016 resulted in a significant increase in day trading volume, which piqued our interest in researching the impact and profitability of day trading, expected (unexpected) day trading, and day trading at high (low) levels of VIX using time series models, with the following key findings. First, we show that a high market trading volume triggers a high day trading volume resulting from liquidity markets that day traders prefer, but a high day trading volume does not trigger a high market trading volume resulting from speculative markets that other market participants don't prefer. Second, contrary to our perception, while the VIX index rises, day trading would be more profitable after the relaxation. We infer that a high VIX index may be accompanied by a volatile market, which may generate profits by widening the intraday spread of a day-tradable stock. Third, as compared with unexpected market trading volume, we reveal that unexpected day trading volume may be more unexpected than market trading volume, being more likely to enhance market volatility and stock returns. These impressive and interesting findings may not be disclosed before the relaxation, which may contribute to the existing literature.

title: Using Heatmap Visualization to assess the performance of the DJ30 and NASDAQ100 Indices under diverse VMA trading rules abstract: We investigate whether using various VMA trading rules would improve investment performance due to the flexibility of VMA trading rules and the aid of Heatmap Visualization. Previously, investors frequently chose the best performance derived from limited VMA trading rules. However, our new design, which can display all results using Heatmap Visualization, shows that the NASDAQ100 index outperforms the DJ30 index and that weekly data outperforms daily data when measured by annualized return. These findings may be useful to those who trade index ETFs tracking the DJ30 and NASDAQ100 indices, as well as investors making investment decisions, and may contribute to the existing literature by evaluating the outcomes of VMA trading rules and providing insights for index ETF investors using a heatmap matrix, which is rarely explored and presented in the relevant literature.
The power of culture: how it shapes tourists’ online engagement with destinations
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125115
title: The power of culture: how it shapes tourists’ online engagement with destinations abstract: This study investigates how belief and folklore culture influence destination online engagement behavior, with a specific focus on Meizhou Island’s Mazu culture. Through social cognition theory, the study reveals that cultural atmosphere affects online engagement behavior through mystique and place distinctiveness, but peer emotional contagion and perceived crowding moderate this relationship negatively. According to the study, enhancing the cultural environment and regulating tourist flow is critical to creating a positive destination experience for tourists. The study also provides valuable insights for tourism practitioners and policymakers on how to enhance destination online engagement behavior and promote belief and folklore culture tourism.
How does cultural confidence awaken community citizenship behaviors? The moderating effect of cultural involvement.
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125114
title: How does cultural confidence awaken community citizenship behaviors? The moderating effect of cultural involvement. abstract: We state that investigating the impact of residents' cultural confidence on their affections and behaviors is worthy of exploration for heritage destinations. Using 666 residents of Quanzhou, a UNESCO World Heritage site, as examples, we employed the SEM technique to investigate how cultural confidence influences community citizenship behavior. As a consequence, not only residents' cultural confidence is positively associated with their affections (i.e., place identity and psychological ownership), but it is also positively associated with their citizenship behaviors (i.e., community citizenship behavior, including recommendation behavior, helping behavior, and feedback behavior). However, we found that cultural involvement would not enhance the positive effect of cultural confidence on place identity. As such, we argue that this study makes contributions by highlighting the importance of cultural confidence in cultural tourism, revealing the unique role of excessive cultural involvement, and providing valuable insights from the perspective of residents. Furthermore, we believe that, given the current competitive conditions in the tourism industry, providing new insights to better understand the roles of residents' cultural confidence and involvement would be critical to the success of heritage tourism.

https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125113
title: Decoding the Profitability of Insurance Products: A Novel Approach to Evaluating Non-Participating and Participating Insurance Policies abstract: This study presents a novel approach to analyzing the present value of total profit for non-participating and participating insurance policies in order to determine the optimal profitability of non-participating and participating insurance policies based on applying the approach used in operations research to the field of finance. As such, a comprehensive insurance product evaluation model was developed using both mathematical models and numerical analysis to evaluate the demand for non-participating and participating life insurance policies in response to changes in interest rates. The findings indicate that non-participating life insurance policies offer greater solvency for insurance companies compared to participating policies. The study also highlights the significance of spontaneous and induced demand in determining the total profit of both types of policies. The study concludes that life insurance companies should focus on generating spontaneous consumer demand, reducing induced demand, and implementing the optimal pricing strategy to achieve maximum profits.

https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125111
title: A New Look on the Profitability of Fixed and Indexed Mortgage Products abstract: This study presents a novel approach to analyzing the present value of total profit for fixed and indexed mortgage products in order to determine the optimal mortgage interest rate that would maximize the bank’s expected total profit based on applying the approach used in operations research to the field of finance. The study considers the impact of lending rate, demand, prepayment, and defaults on bank profits and emphasizes the trade-offs between potential gains and losses when setting the lending rate. As such, we not only used a fixed-rate mortgage model or an index mortgage model with the interest rate as the decision variable, but also employed mathematical analysis methods to find out the loan rate that maximizes the present value of the bank’s expected total profit. The findings revealed that an increase in interest rate, loan amount, and demand positively impacted the bank profits, while prepayment had an adverse effect. The study highlights the importance of carefully evaluating various factors that influence revenue in order to arrive at the most appropriate lending rate that will optimize profits. The results provide valuable insights into the optimal mortgage interest rate and the factors that determine the revenue and profits of a bank, with implications for cost–benefit analysis, fixed-rate mortgage, indexed mortgage, lending rate, defaults, and maximum profit. This study contributes to the existing literature on mortgage products. It provides practical implications for banks in managing their mortgage products efficiently in order to enhance their financial performance and recommends optimizing mortgage interest rates for maximum bank profits by taking the lending rate, demand, and prepayment effects into account.

https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125053
title: The relationship between strategic human resource management, green innovation and environmental performance: a moderated-mediation model abstract: This study investigates the impact of strategic human resource management (SHRM) on fostering green innovation and enhancing environmental performance among employees in the Asia-Pacific region. In the context of intensifying competition in the industrial sector, it is essential to understand how SHRM influences employees’ innovative capabilities and their alignment with environmental goals. Our research suggests that effective SHRM strategies can significantly increase self-efficacy and stimulate green innovation, thus reinforcing the alignment between individual and organizational environmental objectives. To empirically test these hypotheses, we conducted a survey of 487 employees and used Smart-PLS 4.0 for structural equation modeling. This method allowed us to examine both the mediating and moderating effects within our model. The results indicate that self-efficacy mediates the relationship between SHRM practices and green innovation, while person-organization fit significantly moderates the relationship between green innovation and environmental performance. This study offers novel insights into how SHRM can promote environmental consciousness and innovation within organizations. By underscoring the roles of self-efficacy and person-organization fit, our research enriches the broader scholarly dialog on strategic human resource management and its environmental implications.

https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125043
title: An exploratory study of breakthrough innovations in digital businesses: The case of the Perfect Corporation abstract: Developing successful breakthrough innovations is a challenge for industrial firms due to the high degree of
uncertainty and complexity involved. This difficulty is heightened by the rapid development of information and communication technologies, which has disrupted many traditional industries and has forced companies to adopt more radical approaches to innovation. To investigate the role of technological capabilities in digital disruption, the present study employs an in-depth qualitative case study of Perfect Corporation. https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125042
title: Topic Modelling and Sentiment Analysis on YouTube Sustainable Fashion Comments abstract: YouTube videos on sustainable fashion enable the public to gain basic knowledge about this concept. In this paper, we analyse user comments on YouTube videos that contain sustainable fashion content. The paper’s main objective is to help content creators and business managers effectively understand the perspectives of viewers, thus improving video quality and developing business. We analysed a dataset of 17,357 comments collected from 15 sustainable fashion YouTube videos. First, we use Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA), a topic modelling technique, to discover the abstract topics. In addition, we use two approaches to rank these topics: ranking based on proportion and Rank-1 method. Second, we apply sentiment analysis to identify the user’s emotional tone in the comments. As a result, 14 topics were identified. The most common positive and negative scores are 1 and −1, respectively. In total, there are 28.42% positive comments, 22.35% negative comments and 49.23% neutral comments.
Exploring the Attitudes, Perceived Value, and Repurchase Intention of the Elderly Towards Green Restaurants

title: Exploring the Attitudes, Perceived Value, and Repurchase Intention of the Elderly Towards Green Restaurants abstract: This study investigates the attitudes, perceived value, and repurchase intentions of the elderly population towards green restaurants. With the increasing proportion of the elderly in Taiwan, their dietary needs have become more refined, focusing more on health and nutritional value. Consequently, restaurants offering healthy, nutritious, and environmentally conscious food choices are likely to be favored by this demographic. The social needs of the elderly population are also a consideration; restaurants that provide a healthy, environmentally friendly, and relaxed environment may become one of their options for social interaction, which is beneficial for maintaining mental health and quality of life. The results indicate a positive relationship between consumers' attitudes towards the restaurant, perceived value, and repurchase intention. Consumers' attitudes and perceived values towards green restaurants significantly impact their repurchase intentions. Additionally, consumers' willingness to revisit is also influenced by the perceived value. Overall, this study fills the gap in research related to green restaurants and specific age groups in the catering industry and provides references for green restaurant operators in developing potential consumers and marketing strategies.
Forecasting Technological Change via Driving Force Approach based on Innovation Diffusion and Complexity Theory
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/125011
title: Forecasting Technological Change via Driving Force Approach based on Innovation Diffusion and Complexity Theory abstract: Traditional forecasting methods usually predict industry trends and technologies in only a single direction, either upward or downward. Therefore, the forecasting results would often show surprising deviations, particularly for those industries that are complex and may have abrupt changes. Consequently, this study aims to fill this gap and develop a new approach by making industrial driving forces a concrete tool for forecasting technological changes and industry trends. Both qualitative and quantitative data were collected to examine the future direction of OLED (organic light-emitting diode) technology, which is regarded as complex with highly uncertain opportunities and market potential. The forecasted data were then compared with the actual industrial data. The results indicated that both showed the same cyclical pattern. These preliminary findings imply that the concept of driving forces can be utilized as a forecasting tool when integrated with quantitative data analysis.

title: Unveiling the Confirmation Factors of Information System Quality on Continuance Intention towards Online Cryptocurrency Exchanges: The Extension of the Expectation Confirmation Model abstract: This study is based on the Expectation Confirmation Model and the Information System Success Model to evaluate the influence of perceived usefulness and satisfaction towards online cryptocurrency exchanges. Therefore, this study deconstructs the “confirmation” component of the information system continuous use model into three different components: confirmation of information quality, confirmation of system quality, and confirmation of service quality, to investigate the factors that influence the desire to use online cryptocurrency exchanges continuously. This research used a questionnaire methodology, with data collected from 248 users of cryptocurrency platforms. This study found that perceived usefulness and satisfaction significantly correlated with continuance intention. Furthermore, information quality, system quality, and service quality significantly correlated with perceived usefulness and satisfaction. Finally, perceived usefulness was found to be significantly correlated with satisfaction.
Food waste and environmental sustainability of the hotelindustry in Taiwan
https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/124854
title: Food waste and environmental sustainability of the hotelindustry in Taiwan abstract: There is an alarming surge in food wastage stemming from culinary practices and intricate cuisines despite technological advancements. The reduction in food wastage is a pivotal sustainable development goal, yet statistics indicate high levels of wastage. Scholars have investigated food waste extensively with a focus on the hospitality sector, which accounts for nearly 12% of total waste. Factors contributing to food waste have been examined, yet findings tend to be isolated and lack a holistic approach. Existing research leans heavily toward developed countries despite the issue being more pronounced in developing economies. Investigations into hotel-related food wastage in Taiwan remain scarce. Effective waste management can curtail expenditures and enhance brand reputation and underscore a commitment to environmental sustainability for hoteliers and culinary managers. This study offers actionable insights to guide sustainable development. The current research employs qualitative interviews and structured questionnaires with culinary experts and hotel management to decode intricacies of food wastage across procurement, inventory, and preparation in Taiwanese hotels. Utilizing the Analytic Network Process methodology, the research provides insights to guide hoteliers in achieving sustainable development goals.

https://tkuir.lib.tku.edu.tw/dspace/handle/987654321/124752

Following the passage of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, firms with an independent director proportion of less than 50% were required to increase the director percentage, resulting in a significant increase in demand for independent directors. This study investigates whether companies with greater social capital are more likely to hire talented independent directors. Using corporate social responsibility to measure social capital, the empirical results show that after the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, firms with higher corporate social responsibility are able to hire independent directors, and had a higher probability of having currently or previously served as chief executive officer, chief operating officer, and chief financial officer. This relationship is stronger when local directors are scarce. In general, companies with higher social capital are indeed more be able to attract more talented independent directors.
