    <description>title: Team formation for collaborative learning with social network consideration based on edX's online discussion board abstract: Collaborative Learning (CL) along with the changing of the teaching environment, the way how students interact has also changed. The rise of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) lets the teaching environment turn into online teaching. Deriving from MOOCs, Small Private Online Course (SPOC) incorporates the concept of Blended Learning (BL), which combines the advantage of MOOCs and face-to-face teaching. In this context, implies an enormous amount of consideration of group division factors and information volume when teachers organize groups. In the face of an unprecedented workload size, organizing groups manually is extremely time consuming and difficult for teachers. In this paper, we make use of the advantages of the conditions of SPOC, retrieving the social network of students on the online discussion board, then the heterogeneous division of groups based on academic results is the supplementary to do grouping. In addition, this paper makes use of edX, a representative platform of MOOCs, and develops the group division modules based on the format of the online discussion boards of the platform. Comparing with the way of grouping by students themselves in this context, the method which brought out by this paper do a better job in learning performance in spite of the satisfactions is worse.

Visitors spend much time standing and waiting for the rides. If the visitors can register in a virtual queue for the rides while engaging some other activities, the wasted time will be reduced and the customer satisfaction level increases. This study is first to design a queuing system for theme parks that visitors can register for favorite rides into virtual queues. A simulation tool Arena is used for assessing the improvement and satisfaction level. Further implementation of applying near field communication (NFC) technology and wireless communication will be carried out in the future study.

These two kinds of game categories can become as popular as nowadays, because these are the ways that users can easily have access to and to play the games with. Based on the above and the fact that social networking service has become a part of our daily life, we decided to merge all social network features into our web game to make our games more compatible. This research is focused on virtual pet game with ability of allowing interaction between friends' pets and sharing messages among friends and the system are accessible through the web browser. In the future, we will combine social network system and the virtual pet game and also make a smart phone app version out of the combination, so that the users can take care of their own virtual pets anytime and anywhere as long as they have access to the Internet.

    <description>title: Mobile Augmented Reality of Tourism-Yilan Hot Spring abstract: This research focuses on a concept of location-based service (LBS) and further extend to design a set of smart phone application (APP) with mobile augmented reality about Yilan hot spring. The APP is divided into two parts: map module and augmented reality (AR) module. The map module enables people to search the hot springs' information and their corresponding positions by combining the application with the use of Google Map. The AR module uses the point of interest (POI) with two-dimensional virtual image in the real scene that allows people find the location. In addition, we provide the Quick Response code (QR code) for each of the POI, which assists the users to link to the original website of Yilan hot spring by scanning the QR code. The APP also provides the function of camera that allows its users to capture the photos and record the videos in this APP. By using this Mobile AR APP, people can search the information about Yilan hot spring anywhere and anytime.

    <description>title: Study of the Avatar Migration Problem on the Networked Virtual Environment abstract: Networked virtual environment (NVE) is a study of the interaction among graphically distributive simultaneous participants of the same virtual world. Different researches have been proposed in the recent years to achieve such a goal. Scalability and resource management are two important research issues to increase the number of simultaneous participants. Furthermore, the multiple-server system to reduce system overhead for NVE is a common approach for the scalability issue, and Area-Of-Interest (AOI) to reduce network bandwidth consumption is the technique for the resource management issue. This paper presents an issue that is often raised for the NVE which is constructed by the multiple-server approach with the spatial AOI technique. The spatial AOI technique requires the virtual world to be partitioned into regions which are respectively managed by different servers. When an avatar locomotes inside the virtual world, it may pass the boundary and move into another region which is managed by another server. When this situation occurs, the client site may perceive inconsistent visual effect due to different contents in these two servers. We refer this situation as the avatar migration problem. This paper proposed a mechanism to solve this issue. This mechanism is based upon the mathematical model of spatial AOI presented in this paper. The message filter function for interest management is then given with the mathematical proof for its correctness and generalization. Significantly, the proposed interest management is the first mathematical model for the spatial AOI researches. Finally, an illustrative implementation with the interleaved squaring AOI technique is discussed.

    <description>title: Design of a Location-Based Local Culture Course M-learning Platform abstract: M-learning can provide learners the capability to assimilate courses anywhere in any time. However, most existing mlearning systems only allow learners to passively receive knowledge without considering the temporal and spacial information of the learners. Due to the location-based nature of AR technology, AR-based m-learning systems can solve the problems by enabling learners to interact with the environment through AR interface. Local culture courses are the lectures talking about the civilization of a place. The challenge is to build a MAR m-learning system with capabilities for various learning environments which have covered and considered the learning efficiency, cultural geography, and other contexts for learners. This paper probes a novel system/App architecture, HTT, and targets on developing a context-aware mobile augmented reality HCI learning platform for local culture courses.

    <description>title: Seismic Analysis of Asymmetric Wall-Frame Structures abstract: The highly asymmetric structure usually exhibits significant torsional effects arising from the non-coincidence of mass- and shear centers, when subjected to a strong ground excitation. Since both the magnitude and the orientation of structural eccentricity are not only dependent upon the layout of inner shear walls but also closely related to the outer geometric pattern of the structure, a multistory walled building with an L-type configuration is hence chosen as the target investigated herein so as to recognize the correlation between structural seismic behaviors and some crucial parameters. To acquire the satisfactory analytical results the degenerated shell element and a sophisticated 3-D soil-structure interaction model will be, respectively, used for modeling the slab and reinforced shear walls and for simulating the interaction forces between the structure and the soil. Furthermore, in order to obtain more realistic solutions, the influences of the substructure and the soil property on the torsional responses of the global system will be also investigated in detail.

    <description>title: Reversible Data Hiding Using Prediction-based Adaptive Embedding abstract: In this paper, we propose a new algorithm in reversible data hiding with prediction-based scheme. Reversible data hiding can be implemented with two types, one is by modifying the histogram of images, named the histogram-based scheme, and the other is by changing the difference value between neighboring pixels, called the difference-expansion-based (DE-based) method. Considering the ease of implementation, we employ the histogram-based scheme as the base, integrated with the DE-based methods, which is famous for the abundance in embedding capacity, in our algorithm. For hiding the secret information, the differences between original and predicted images are produced firstly, and they are intentionally altered to make reversible data hiding possible. By utilizing the advantages from the two types of methods, by change of histograms of difference values, global and local characteristics of original images can be utilized for hiding more capacity with acceptable quality of output image. With our method, it performs better in embedding capacity, image quality, and side information than conventional algorithm in literature. It also has the potential for the integration to relating algorithms for practical applications.
