說明:字幕翻譯一閃即過,不要使用像「她從小便…」這種讓觀眾乍看下會誤解的句子。
4. 避免視聽分歧

(O) 她會給你好看 // 你最好別招惹她
說明:一個句子拆成兩句前後出現時,中文語序盡量同英文語序,免得讓聽得懂英文的觀眾有文字對不上聲音的感覺。
5. 翻成完整的句子

說明:譯文不要跟著原文斷句,翻成一句完整的中文,以便觀眾容易閱讀。

title: Ecofeminist Climate Fiction: Merlinda Bobis's Locust Girl abstract: In Australian climate change contexts, Locust Girl (2015), a climate fiction (cli-fi) novel by Filipino-Australian writer Merlinda Bobis, reads as a thinly disguised account of human agents and agencies that transformed Australia from a verdant continent with ample sources of water to a sunburnt and parched one after 1788. In global contexts, the novel describes the planet Earth as humans are transforming it from a cool green sphere into a hot red orb. Today, “1% of the world is a barely livable hot zone. By 2070, that amount of space could go up to 20%. The novel asks questions in particular about what specific human agents and agencies in Australia and beyond are most responsible for climate change. In the implicit answers that the novel gives to those questions, it castigates what ecofeminists identify as masculinist beliefs and behaviours. That criticism is the basis of the discussion of this chapter. The second main subject, which precedes the first, relates to questions about the genre of cli-fi. In addressing it, Iris Ralph briefly summarize the origins of literary realism, sci-fi (science fiction), and cli-fi, a genre that is the meeting halfway between literary realism and sci-fi, two genres that traditionally stood at opposite ends on the literary spectrum. Locust Girl exemplifies the new genre of cli-fi in its address of stark climatic realities generated by human activities. Even only half a century ago, those realities would not have been portrayed in most literature outside of sci-fi literary production and include sky-rocketing temperatures, desertification, proliferation of fire, shrinking aquifers, species loss on a massive scale, loss of arable land, and condensation of human populations in and around mega cities.

title: 尤里庇狄思劇本中的陰騭悲歌: 《米蒂亞》與《希帕里特斯》的「真相」、分裂架構與瘋癲 abstract: 本論文嘗試探討古希臘劇作家尤里庇狄思所呈現的真相與虛假之模稜性、本體分裂架構及瘋癲主旨。討論中指出《米蒂亞》與《希帕里特斯》巧妙的融合古希臘說真話的實踐,衝突的分裂架構,和男權社會中女性的的反抗與瘋癲,在在充斥於情節,主題,與角色描寫中。
傅柯分析parrhesia為傳達無所畏懼地說真話活動,展現坦率、真理、批評、義務、冒險之五大意涵。並藉由討論古希臘政治或個人說真話的觀點與實踐,檢視此字於《米蒂亞》和《希帕里特斯》作品中之運用,以清楚揭示說真話與隱藏真話在兩作品中的並置,進而分析真相及虛假之模稜兩可。
此外,運用黑格爾之悲劇觀點與古希臘性別規範,我將說明尤里庇狄思式悲劇建立了明顯的結構傾向:悲劇角色從序曲開始即堅持於「摯愛執著」的領域(「黑暗本性」)來抗衡令自己痛苦的異己,且主角與對手之間絕無考慮妥協的餘地。如同米蒂亞與傑森或菲黛拉與希帕里特斯的各自執著本性,形成不相容之對立與敵意之抗衡。
另藉由黑格爾之瘋癲理論,本文證明異常的悲劇角色陷入兩個真實世界(內在與外在世界之對立),且異常的自我經歷了分裂的雙重個性。因此「雙重雙重性」被呈現:分裂的雙重個性伴隨著分裂的雙重世界。此外,根據偏見的性別意識型態(積習的二元論成規),本論文指出在劇本中呈現男性主導社會中女性的微小地位、負面特質、受難和絕望的意識,強烈激發米蒂亞和菲黛拉拼命的反抗文化規範並施展極度的瘋癲策略。此手段既為抗議,更為心靈復原療法,藉以擺脫精神創痛,繼而昭顯尊嚴與自我定位的追尋。
文末指出,尤里庇狄思的經典悲劇精湛地傳唱出女性生存所面臨的對立衝突,更反映出其陰騭瘋癲,在在詳盡地揭露女性的追求尊嚴對抗,以求生存與光榮之永恆意義。

title: The Ethical Aspect of Disease: Poe's "Morella" and Life abstract: Edgar Allan Poe's obsession with the morbid and the death of beautiful women not only serves as the embodiment of the sources of melancholy, but also functions as the embodiment of the beautiful. Readings of Poe's terror tales commonly emphasize the beauty that is beyond the realms of ordinary life and even human perception. These readings constitute what I call aesthetic readings of Poe's works. This paper attempts to develop an alternative reading of Poe, which involves the ethical aspect of disease and the notion of life. I argue that many of Poe's readers, however impressive their readings may be, understand "disease" in a negative way and hence might overlook the insights within Poe's tales. While aesthetic readings celebrate Poe's dark, destructive, morbid, and even nihilist style, an ethical reading of Poe intends to illustrate that disease can "liberate" an individual through the "transmutation of values" and leads to the affirmation of life. Life, in this sense, refers not to a particular individual life, but to that which is never completely specified and always indefinite. The tale "Morella" depicts a return to life-but that which returns is difference instead of identity, and that which returns brings a new mode of living. This new mode of living requires people to know life as such differently, to know what is in oneself as more-than-individual, to actively engage with vitality, and to eventually realize that life is impersonal and indefinite.

title: 書寫倖存:奈波爾、沃爾柯特與柯慈作品中的死亡、債務與自我 abstract: 何謂「書寫倖存」?活在重要他者死後的這一事實,與書寫有何關聯?帶著這些疑問,本論文透過奈波爾、沃爾柯特與柯慈這三位後殖民作家的作品,探討了三種在書寫自我的行動中,作家處理資產的方式。基本的問題涉及:對於這些作家來說,書寫如何是生存之必要手段?進一步追問,書寫的獨特之處為何,能讓作家處理死亡的議題,把僵死轉化為活債、將自我從過去提煉出來,如從礦石中提煉物質之精華?對於奈波爾而言,書寫倖存即牽涉到一系列的轉化過程。在他書中,死亡化成暫待償還的債務,清償這些債務時,自我的面貌不斷翻轉變化,最終總有某種完整的自我面貌浮現。《畢思沃斯先生的房子》(1961)說明了「書寫倖存」即是「為了倖存而書寫」。在二十多年後的〈自傳序言〉(1982),奈波爾藉由挖掘父親的時代與生命故事,重申了他先前小說中的轉化美學。即便《畢思沃斯先生的房子》的線性父子接承關係在《抵達之謎》(1987),轉置成了作家對舊英國光景的唏噓,倖存的命題仍然扣緊文學遺產的承接與再現。論文的一、二章探索奈波爾如何協調個人層面的親屬關係和作家與跨國、跨文化書寫的鍊結。相對於奈波爾的繼承命題,本論文第三與第四章,探討沃爾柯特如何處理倖存與寫作所涉及的衝突主題。如果沃爾柯特與奈波爾一樣,視書寫為一種天職,也是倖存的方法,那麼前者在他的詩中帶入了與後者不同的物質元素。在《另一生》(1973)中,身份破裂的詩人在海的和諧之聲中,為哀悼的作家找到了療癒方式。在《奧玫羅斯》(1990)裡,跨大西洋的場域催生了詩人敘述中的複合自我。此般敘述方式以多元融合的和諧視野面對殖民餘波所帶來的衝突。詩人以新世界的倖存者自居,透過召喚先靈,詩人使本土得以跨出邊界。第五章討論柯慈兩本自傳小說中主角對於歸屬感的逃逸。柯慈的作品,不同於奈波爾的親子繼承關係,也不同於沃爾柯特所強調的跨大西洋連結,反倒以分離的主題來呈現債務的主題。約翰在《童年時光》(1997)裡哀悼農場的生活經驗,在《青春歲月》(2002)中哀悼流產的嬰兒。兩者都指出家園,如同南非這個國家,是約翰亟欲逃離的地方。《童年時光》與《青春歲月》裡有關逃離的種種小敘事,再再暗示作家如何在國家機器的律令之中苟活。對於這三位作家來說,寫作是一種帶有倫理意涵的倖存方式,因為作家透過各自書寫,對不同型態的遺產與債務進行召喚、並恰當運用於作品、使之得以再現,藉以為死亡發聲。倖存牽扯了不僅只一個生命、一個自我,也因此在倖存這一獨特的生命形塑過程,書寫得以實踐其自身的、賦有創建性的工程。

title: 以榮格分析心理學及生態心理學的觀點閱讀尾關露絲及羅賓遜的作品 abstract: 本論文的主旨在於提倡生態心理學的一個重要理念:也就是說要安撫人心(達到身心平衡的狀態),我們必需要了解到人的本性與大自然環境之間的關係是密不可分的。為了達到這個目的,我引用了榮格分析心理學的理念輔助說明生態心理學的觀點。榮格對於本我意識結構動向的闡述(榮格的心靈地圖),提供了一個很好的方向值得我們探索。其中,人類意識層次所能到達的層級包含安索羅波斯(神人/精神層面)、人類、蛇座(蛇/動物)、玄石(石頭意象/四大元素)、及圓極(粒子/純能量)的部份。為了探索生態心理學的主張及榮格對於個性化或個體化(非利己主義)的理念,我選擇了尾關露絲的文學作品作為研究的課題。原因在於尾關露絲的早期作品(1998-2003)涉及到文化(社會)與大自然(動物、植物)之間的衝突(於本論文第二章及第三章探討)。其晚期的作品(2013-2015)在她2010年受戒為禪師後,提升到了一個意識覺醒、較為精神層面的創作(在本文第一章及第五章中討論)。羅賓遜的文學作品也被納入了討論的範圍(第四章)。《綠色地球》這本小說涉及到自然界非有機領域的部分,探討四大元素(水、火、風、土)失衡所帶來的氣候變遷議題,其所造成不可避免的天然災害。簡言之,尾關露絲及羅賓遜的文學作品,透過榮格分析心理學及生態心理學的角度分析,可以使我們從中獲得寶貴的經驗,讓我們內在的心靈世界與外在的大自然環境能夠和平共處,達到永續發展的目標。

生態危機是二十一世紀最重要的議題之一。所謂「危機」並非駭人聽聞的恐佈事件,而是暗指風險管理和風險評估,進而思考人類未來永續經營的條件和可能性。今日全球環境變遷加速,海嘯、颶風、洪水、土石流、沙漠化、北極冰溶、森林火災等「天災」不斷;水資源污染、毒物(toxic objects)和暖化所帶來的病毒傳染,導致生態疾病(ecosickness)日益惡化。
本書援用「生態文學批評」的視角,重新審視人與非人(自然、環境和氣候)之間的倫理關係,並嘗試探討「環境政策」是否能有效改善失衡的生態系統。全書內容分四部分:「緒論」主要介紹生態文學批評、學科建置、波段理論,以及其發展概況。第一輯主要爬梳生態文學批評的方法論。第二輯則以「生態溝通」、「超物件」和「政治生態學」等理論來分析生態作品。第三輯旨在透過史耐德的生態詩學、文化翻譯及生命書寫,探討史耐德如何介入環境議題並回應生態危機。

title: 當代英文小說的啟蒙思想及環境反撲 abstract: 在這本論文中,本人提出所討論的英文小說的生態批評研究。 這些小說皆指出今日地球受到的啟蒙思想禍害,我從不同的生態理論觀點來研究這些小說所提出的解決之道。第一章探討三本小說,第一本為知名美國小說家戈馬克‧麥卡錫《血色子午線》描繪淒涼反啟蒙的美國帝國及生態征服美國西部的曠世巨作。第二本小說為澳洲作家蒂姆‧溫頓《淺灘》的生態思想小說,與阿崗本的動物概念與“人本機器”形成對比。第三本小說也是溫頓的《呼吸》,探討人與物質世界各種關係的可能性。第二章從生態女性主義的觀點討論美國原住民知名作家琳達‧霍根兩本小說《太陽風暴》與《靠鯨生活的人》。這兩本小說描寫主要角色試圖掙脫西方啟蒙傳統的傷痛,雖然有些仍然功敗垂成。 第三章主要集中分析英國巴基斯坦裔小說家納迪姆‧阿斯拉姆2004年名著《失去戀人的地圖》,探討在英國北部的巴基斯坦移民社區所面臨的空間、地方以及氣候的改變。第四章則探討美國科幻小說家保羅‧巴奇加盧比代表作《曼谷的發條女孩》,認為小說展現了氣候暖化將摧毀環境,因為毀滅許多人居住的「全球化」生態社區,這本小說寫提出後人類在啟蒙人文主義的「人類之後」將會是一條死胡同。第五章將以兩本科幻小說─伊恩‧班克斯的《氫奏鳴曲》與查爾斯‧斯特羅斯的2006年《加速》─作為結論。本人將分析以生態的觀點探討人本主義、後人類、人與非人動物的關係、並且提出人類特殊主義將挑戰傳統人與動物的階層關係,帶入人工智慧取代人類的複雜挑戰。

Katherine Hayles)、哈樂崴(Haraway)、沃爾夫(Cary Wolfe)、貝明頓(Neil Badmington)等不同的後人類主義觀點。第一章除了探討古代、現代、及後人類的三階段變形外,便以古代的想像擬人變形為著眼點,以德勒茲的流變(becoming)概念來看《少年PI的奇幻漂流》(Life of Pi)的擬人化想象中的變形,並佐以達爾文(Charles Robert Darwin)質疑人類是否還有演化(variant)空間等相關問題。此外,本章也討論後結構主義學者如何提出不同於傳統西方哲學的變形思想,促使人重新思考人類、動物、機器、環境的關係。第二章以布洛姆坎普(Neill Blomkamp) 執導的《第九禁區》(District 9)、《極樂空間》 (Elysium)及《成人世界》(Chappie)三部電影,更進一步探討機械變形的演化。對我而言,布洛姆坎普的三部曲說明後人類的變形進化:由《第九禁區》中想像的變形,過渡到《極樂空間》裡後工業化賽伯格的現代變形,最後在《成人世界》裡體現出後人類釋放意識達到開放系統的變形。此三部曲的變形分別著重基因突變、人機合體和意識離身,符合本論文探討人類如何從古代、現代、後人類變形。論文第三章處理村上春樹(Haruki Murakami)的四部小說:《聽風的歌》(Hear the Wind Sing)、《1973年的彈珠玩具》(Pinball, 1973)、《尋羊冒險記》(A Wild Sheep Chas)和《舞・舞・舞》(Dance Dance Dance)。我將村上春樹這位日本後戰/後現代作家視為不折不扣的後人類小說家,並以他的「老鼠」四部曲為例,分析村上小說中人/機意念上的結合以及小說中後人類世代的人和機器之間的性關係,凸顯後人類小說中「異合感」(heterogeneous harmony)的重要特色。文末,我援用「去疆域」(deterritorialization)的概念處理環境空間突變後所形成的「異質地理」(Heterotopias)。在此異質性空間中,人類、異生命和環境成為一開放系統。

His principle of linguistic relativity was primarily a critique of the ethnocentrism of Western positivistic science which saw itself as the final word in matters of ontology and epistemology, and which marginalized languages and cultures that were different from the "Standard Average European" ideal. When he is reread alongside his contemporaries M. M. Bakhtin, L. Vygotsky, and L. Wittgenstein, Whorf is seen to be a philosopher of language whose ideas are increasingly relevant to current-day educators. Traditional readings of Whorf that do not consider the context in which he wrote his essays lead to incomplete views of language, thought and culture. The new reading of Whorf given in this dissertation provides a fuller theoretical framework for understanding the semantics and pragmatics of counterfactuality in Chinese English, as well as the role of ideology in interdisciplinary scholarship

classrooms where native and nonnative English teachers work together has been
commonly implemented in several East Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, Hong
Kong, and Taiwan. For these countries, importation of foreign teachers from Englishspeaking
countries to team teach with local English teachers is viewed as a strategic way
to bring authentic language input to EFL classrooms, facilitate cross-cultural
communication, enhance students’ English ability, and promote local English teachers’
professional development.
Research has confirmed that collaboration among teachers makes valuable
contributions to their ongoing growth. However, little attention has been paid to teacher
learning in the EFL team teaching context, and there is a lack of empirical research in this
area. To fill the gap, this study, following the design of qualitative case studies, aimed to
explore the team teaching experiences of foreign and local English teachers in Taiwanese
elementary schools as well as to illuminate team teachers’ ongoing growth in this context.
Research data included observations, interviews, and document analysis collected
over a six-month period. A constant comparative data analysis method was employed to
provide an in-depth description of the team teachers’ teaching practice, interactions, and
professional learning in elementary English classes, and to understand the factors that
facilitated and impeded team teachers’ collegial interactions and their learning process.

This study reveals that each team developed divergent team teaching styles as
well as diverse collegial relationships, depending on the different combinations of the
team teachers. Despite the variations among the three teams, team teaching was mainly
manifested as the division of labor of pedagogical responsibilities and duties as well as in
the providing of consultation by the Taiwanese teachers. In addition, their collegial
interactions were influenced by eleven factors: age, gender, personality, language,
professional respect, assumptions about teaching and team teaching, communication
styles, stereotypes, workload and scheduling, administrative roles of the Taiwanese
teachers, and amount of teacher training.
With regard to teacher learning, findings of this study suggest that the team
teachers benefited from the team teaching experience in six aspects: language knowledge
and skills, knowledge of culture, teaching skills, understanding of students and schooling,
development of partnerships, and development of professional identity. The learning
opportunities were afforded by classroom observations and collegial conversations. The
quality of the team teachers’ collegial relationships and their educational backgrounds
were two major factors influencing the extent to which they learned and what they
learned through team teaching with their teaching partners in the elementary school
English classrooms in Taiwan.
Finally, this study identifies the vital role that the government and the
administration played in determining the successfulness of team teaching and promotion
of teacher learning in this context, and, thus, this study concludes by providing
suggestions on how to improve the team teaching practice.

title: In search of lost being: Memory, language, and translation abstract: Memory is a mark of time; it on the one hand retrogresses and on the other hand
prolongs our finite lives. But representing memory in verbal language generates
problems of language as such and translation. It simultaneously calls forth the
intertwined relationship between memory, the act of writing, temporality, and the nature
of language. This dissertation concerms this complex relationship and furthermore
attempts to explore the un / translatability of writing memory between different languages,
namely, Western languages and Chinese.
Proust's In Search of Lost Time is exemplary in discussing the interwoven
relationship; its Chinese translation opens a possibility to examine temporality in
--- language, since, to translate a writing of memory from French with tenses into Chinese, a
language without conjugation, evokes an unsolvable puzzle of translation. This puzzle
of translation calls for a clarification of relation between different linguistic systems.
After the introductory chapter, this dissertation starts with a close examination of
the notion of "translation." In deepening and widening the idea of translation, the aim is
to seek a non-hierarchical relation between original and translation. The third chapter is
devoted to historical and philosophical constructs of the relation between Western
languages and Chinese. The framework of Western metaphysical discourses and
discussions of historical construction prepare a base for the following two chapters,
which allows us to read Proust from a translation perspective. Chapter four deals with
the nature of memory and employs the idea of translation in its broader sense to show
how experiences of the senses are translated in Proustian writing. The final chapter
presents a comparison of Proust in French, English and Chinese. This comparison is
meant to indicate multi-dimensional readings of Proust. By pointing out plural readings of Proust, the role of translation as subordinate to the original is challenged-translation
designates itself as an indispensable- work. Chinese translation of Proust brings a
different reading; it reincarnates Proust's memory in a non-phonetic language where the
internal temporality of French is disfigured.
