Introduction: 外語學院由英文、西班牙、法文、德文、日文及俄文系等六學系所組成, 其中英文系為淡江大學中歷史最悠久的學系,並且可授予碩、博士學位。外語學院目標是經由密集的語言課程提升學生的語言競爭力,期望學生在畢業前於聽、說、讀、寫能力皆能非常純熟。外語學院最大目標不僅是發展語言能力,並強調價值判斷、高尚、憐憫及具獨立精神的人文教育。 The College of Foreign Languages and Literatures is comprised of six departments: English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese, and Russian. The English Department, the oldest of all departments of Tamkang University, also has graduate programs that offer MA and PhD degrees in English. The College aims to develop linguistic competence in students through intensive language programs. Students are expected to achieve high proficiency in all five skills – listening, speaking, reading, writing, and translation – in the language of their choice before they graduate. In addition to developing language skills, the college also stresses a humanistic education that values justice, integrity, compassion, and independence of mind.
